We all have unconscious bias. It is a predisposition or prejudice that we are unaware of that may lead to negative impacts for both individual and organization. When we are not aware of our biases, we are more likely to commit micro-aggressions.
Micro-aggressions are often communicated unconsciously, without intending or realizing they are harmful. They often are delivered as compliments or in humour, however they may represent hidden agendas and are comprised of minor offenses, insults and exclusionary language or behaviours.
In this session employees will develop an understanding and awareness of the various types of unconscious biases and micro-aggressions, the impact they have and the benefits of addressing to create a more inclusive, collaborative and productive workplace.
